Monaco Color Works & applying profiles

I am having difficulty using Color works to apply my profiles. I have tried it a couple times and the color is worse than when I didn't use profiles. I have set my profiles according to Monaco EZcolor 2.0 and I do not have the monitor colorimeter.

I assume I am applying the profiles incorrectly. All I want to do is scan the image and print copies. I do not need to make any alterations to the photo.

Can anyone help me? Has anyone worked with Color Works?

I am also having problems bringing an 8x10 image at 600 dpi into Color Works without the application locking up.

Have you tried contacting Monaco Systems regarding this? LaserSoft Imaging has no affiliation with Monaco's software.

Thank you to all who provided tips and tricks. I have gotten my profiles to work with the Twain Pro driver. (Still can't do a profile with Silverfast)
My photos are printing out great.
