Hello,
I'm using SilverFast 8 and find I have no options available in the drop down menu to set the Gray profile to 'Generic Gray Gamma 2.2 Profile' as in the snap attached. the only option I have is the default ... <None>
What do I need to do to add profiles to 'Gray' ? What impact will having 'Gray' set to <None> have on the bl & wh negatives I'm scanning?
thanks,
Madeleine

Re: How do I set the Gray Profile in the CMS?
Dear Madeleine,
The gray profile tells other software which gamma was used to crete the image.
This is not very important nowadays as all current systems generally use a gamma of 2.2.
You can however download various gray profiles like this one from the internet.
If you place amy profile in your colormanagement folde rthey will become available in SilverFast.
On OSX this folder is:
/Library/ColorSync/Profiles
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
