CS2, silverfast studio and 400nc, 160s

Postby asfberg » Mon Nov 20, 2006 5:46 pm

i've used silverfast studio for a while now and never had problems with the 400nc profile before trying it in CS2 - now it's so flat in both color and contrast it's nearly impossible to adjust the profile. i've found the only way to get a decent scan is to tweak the nps profile. i have no problems with other films - fuji 160s is fine, maybe better, although for 160s 4x5 i often need to use the npc profile.

also (maybe this needs another thread) fuji 160s 4x5 seems to blow out too quickly in the highlights no matter how i adjust the settings. the npc profiles helps greatly but that even loses it at times. any suggestions for this? there is plenty of detail in the film and i've even tested this with pulled and underexposed film without much luck.

Dear asfberg

I don't see what should be special about CS2 in comparison to older PS versions here. However, colour management settings can differ between Photoshop and SilverFast, or you updated SF and have a defective Negafix profile now, or ...

I suggest you want to download and install the latest update release of your version of SilverFast from our website. You might experience that this already does solve your problem.

If not, please don't hesitate to contact support: https://www.silverfast.com/problemreport/en.html
