Cannot embed an ICC profile
I have Ai Studio V 6.6.2r4a installed for a Nikon Coolscan 5000 ED on a new Windows 7 x64 computer. I can no longer select a “Grey” profile on the CMS tab in “Options.” On my old Windows XP machine I used “NikonGrey2.2 v4.0.0.3000.” But on the new Windows 7 x64 machine the only “Grey” option is “None.” How do I embed the ICC profile into my black and white scans?

Dear imbibition,
You can find all information about color management on our documentation at: http://www.silverfast.com/documentation/en.html
Chapter 7 of the user manual explains this topic as well as a separate addendum
Cheers

Re: Cannot embed an ICC profile
I think my question was not understood. My problem is that there are no profiles in the drop down menu for "Grey." I can't assign a profile when there are no choices. How do I fix this?

Dear imbibition
I can not really tell why this is happening, there might be a setting in other field which is not correctly set or probably there are no grey profiles installed in the new machine.
That is why I recommended the reading.
Please make sure all fields in the CMS dialogue are correctly set.
It is also important that you download and place the color profile in the system folder destined for that task.

You have to choose the correct type of original first.
If your original type is set to positive, you cannot change/select options in the CMS panel which affect negative originals.
