Agfa Vista profiles in NegaFix

Postby Mustavio Fantastico » Wed Jul 13, 2011 12:50 am

The profiles for Agfa Vista negative films in NegaFix,
are they made for the new Agfa Vista Plus series of film
manufactured by Fuji, or the old original Agfa Vista
manufactured by Agfa itself?

I do not see any profiles in NegaFix for "Agfa Vista Plus",
so I am wondering if the "Agfa Vista" profiles can also be used
for the new generation of film.

Hi Mustavio

That NegaFix profile was created with the emulsion manufactured by Agfa.

It is correct, there is no Afga Vista Plus profile for the Fuji manufacture. In that case you will have to modify an existing curve to match the emulsion you have as indicated in another of your threads, I believe here: http://forum.silverfast.com/post30131.html#p30131

The logical thing to me would be to start with the Agfa Vista

Hi,

I think from now on I will only buy and use negative films which have correct
profiles in NegaFix - just to make things easier for myself.
Manually adjusting NegaFix profiles is too much for me.

So for example I will use Fuji Pro 400H instead of the new Kodak Portra 400.
And for ISO 800, Kodak Portra 800 instead of Fuji Pro 800Z.

Hi there

You should try existing curves (even from other manufacturers), most likely you will find something that fits your needs without even having to make any modifications.
