linotype scanner TOPAZ 1

Postby mirko » Wed May 07, 2003 8:35 am

We are a prepress company in Switzerland.
Since 1999 we work with a Topaz 1 Linotype-Hell scanner under mac OS with linocolor 6.0.10.
Under mac osx there is no way to run this scanner.
If someone has the same problem or a good solution, please answer!
Thanks a lot. Mirko

TOPAZ for Mac OS-X

TOPAZ for Mac OS-X

We are talking to Heidelberg to get support from them so we can adapt SilverFast OS-X for that scanner.

That'd be good if Lasersoft will support the Topaz series.
Heidelberg do have Newcolor 7000 V2.54 for MacOsX that turns these scanners. It is very expensive and buggy on MacOsX whereas PC runs well.

We also have the TOPAZ 1, running under Mac OS 9 with
linocolor. We have to switch to Mac Os X. Are there any
News about supporting this scanner by SilverFast?

Thats a bit difficult, it is the only one we have.
So we can't rent it. You only can come to Munich
and do the job.

Postby TobyGadd » Mon Apr 05, 2004 6:13 pm

Hello,

I see that nobody has accessed this thread for awhile. Is support for Linocolor Topaz still in the works?

Thanks!
