Getting jaggies when scanning under 500dpi.

Postby choifoto » Fri Jan 24, 2003 5:38 am

Recently acquired Silverfast 6 ai for mac. Using a Saphir Ultra II. I am scanning 4x5 transparencies, but unless I scan at 500dpi or higher I get jagged edges. I am viewing at 100% in photoshop. Is this an algorithm problem, or something else?

Please send me a sample image at support@silverfast.de, so that we can get an idea of the problem.

Thanks.

Ok. I've emailed you a PSD file. scanned 1:1 at 200dpi. You will notice at 100% in photoshop there are jagged edges in the roof of the building. Shouldn't 200dpi be adequate for screen resolution?

Your image seems to have 5 pixels wide stripes, not only on the roof.

We are going to test the scanner with the latest version.
