demo is up! why can't I install it?

I was thrilled to see a demo up for the Linotype scanners in OS X, then I downloaded it and still can't try it out. What is this file that only Toast seems to be able to recognize? Then it says there is a problem with it so I still cannot try this out. Still stuck with v**s**n or booting into OS 9!
Anybody want to buy a sweet Lino 1450?!
Or better yet clue me in on what I am doing wrong with this demo?
I have so much stuff to scan and I need a solution (*sob!*)

Dropping it on stuffit expander does the trick. Just clicking on it caused confusion.
