Thanks for reporting, we believe to have found the culprit of this issue. The next update will have a bugfix for this

Yes, it is correct, the image will get darker (as it is supposed to)

Well, it is a pre-release version and definitely there is room for improvement, as indicated in one of the dialogues every time you start the program.

Well, when moving the mid-tone slider (in histogram) to the left, the image usually (SF HDR 6.6, Photoshop, ....) gets brighter, not darker.


Again: ACDSeepro will not open tif-files from SF-HDR8. This is the first time, ACDSeepro cannot open a tif-file. There must be something special in your SF8-files

Hi, we implemented an additive interpretation to the midtone-slider of the histogram in SF8. SF 6.6 as well as Photoshop's interpretation of the midtones is based on a subtractive interpretation which back in the days was normally applied when working on CMYK-files, with CMYK being a subtractive color model. Hardly anybody scans for a single output purpose these days - we all scan in a medianeutral workflow to a preferrably large RGB (additive color model) working spaces. So for SilverFast 8 we felt that it makes more sense to implement an additive behaviour to the midtone-slider because we're all workin in RGB now.

You got that right, SilverFast tif-files are very special Seriously, we have to check out why ACDSeepro won't open our files. I will report back here in this thread.
