I actually have 6.6 licensed but I am also using Lion so Rosetta is no longer an option. The most important part of this beta is not available, a way of previewing many scans on the screen at the same time, as shown in the silverfast 8 demo videos. Yes you stated it was not included with this beta, but please include it soon.
I am copying my own slides and negatives in archival format, for 35 mm either 4000 dpi or 3600 dpi depending on scanner with 64 bit HDR multiexpsure scans, each file is 175 meg. For my 6x7 slides and negs it is the same but those files are 800 meg files. I am about half done with 21,000 slides and several 6 terrabyte drives.
I have an 8 core mac with 16 gig of ram so I have the power to overview a large number of slides, separate them into different projects and make minor corrections to original scans (i.e. rotate slide) and class slides by level of darkness.
What I want to do is make project and level of processing folders and sub folders where I am dealing with 30 to 50 slides at a time making base corrections and then making a 2 k and a 10 k jpeg of those partially processed images. I don't want to make any chenges to the original archive image.
6.6 could do most of this, but the file size and rossetta just didn't work together.
Well that is what I am looking for from the new archive suite, hopefully you add the light table to the package very soon, that should also be part of the public testing.

Re: HDR Studio
Dear Kent,
thanks for your feedback. I'm excited to get this prerelease forum kickstarted and collect feedback and input from our users here. This forum will be most valuable for us to create the software roadmap for the development of HDR Studio 8. Of course the VLT is probably one of the biggest subpprojects and we really strive to create a very powerful tool for pretty much exactly the kind of tasks you described. As the PM it's my job to make sure that the developers are reading this
Best, JAN

Yes, lighttable will be added for public testing and feedback once implemented.Well that is what I am looking for from the new archive suite, hopefully you add the light table to the package very soon, that should also be part of the public testing.

HDR Studio for 64 bit hdri file handling
Am I missing something here? Tried to download and install the HDR Studio software for finishing my hdri 64 bit scans - but It does not seem to recognise the hrdi-files? In my present HDR studio software (6.6) the tiff files show in clors - but not so in the pre-release HDR Studio 8 software. Will it not work with 6.6-tiff?

Re: HDR Studio
Hi there
It will, and it does work with Tiff files created with SF 6.6.
Are all your 6.6 pictures displayed in black and white?
Cheers
