HDR Studio runs very slowly
I am testing SF8 and SF8 HDR Beta on a 1.5 year old Intel Core i5 computer running Win7. Many functions are very very slow. In SF8 for example, when I select a scan frame it takes up to about 3 seconds before the selection takes effect. When I move the frame it takes several seconds to respond to my mouse movement. In HDR for example, when I move a slider in Global Colour Correction it takes 3 seconds before the slider responds to my mouse movement and 3 more seconds before the colour changes on the screen. In general, all sliders and scan frame manipulations behave this way. For this software to be useful I need nearly instantaneous response. Is the slow response a SilverFast software problem or is something wrong with my computer? It might help you to know I use SF Archive Suite V6.6 and have 1 similar problem with it. The V6.6 software works well except for PrinTao which behaves much like SF8 and HDR Beta. If I place several images on a page it takes about 3 seconds to select an image and another 3 seconds for the image to move in repsonse to my mouse movement. It is next to impossible to have fine control when moving images in PrinTao - at least, on my computer. Any ideas about what is wrong?

Re: HDR Studio runs very slowly
Hi there,
It is very slow indeed. 6 seconds is a lot of reaction time. SilverFast is tested on a daily basis and we have not experienced such a long reaction time. I believe this might be a local problem.
Perhaps you might want to check on a second computer (at a friends place or similar?).
Kind regards

Hi sinarleica
We will send this to the testing department , there we will try to reproduce this problem.
What size are the pictures you are working with, is this file size dependent?
Kind regards

Alejandro:
You suggested I might have a local problem and wondered if I had the same problem on another computer. I did have SF Archive Suite V6.6 installed on an older Win XP compter and had exactly the same problem with Prin Tao on that system. When I moved to my new Win 7 computer, and Prin Tao behaved exactly the same way, I figured Prin Tao was bad software and bought your competitors software to replace it. When SF8 and SF8 HDR Beta showed the same slow response as Prin Tao on my new, clean, fast computer - then I knew it wasn't bad software and I brought the problem to your attention.
You asked if the slow response is file size dependant. In Prin Tao (on both my XP and Win 7 systems) no, I did not observe file size dependency. In HDR Beta I did not observe file size dependency. In SF8, obviously the slow response when working with scan frames and sliders cannot be file size dependent because SF8 is not reading a file.
