Archiving Negs/Slides and IT8 Calibration

Postby stevebow » Mon Jul 20, 2015 5:35 am

Hi LSI,

I plan to archive a largish collection of negs/slides in SF 8.5 for later rework/output in the HDR app. My question is about IT8 calibration of my scanner. Where in the workflow should this take place? In the SF scanning app or HDR app? My understanding of the HDi RAW mode is that raw data from the CCD sensor is saved to file, so how does IT8 therefore come in to play when working with RAW files?

Thanks,
Steve

Dear Steve,

The IT8 calibration should be done in the Ai Studio before you start the archiving process.
The created profile will be embedded in the HDRiRAW file and can then be automatically used by the HDR Studio software when processing the image.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
