How does VLT apply gamma to preview displays in VLT?

My linear raw tiffs display appropriately, but all non-linear files are very washed out. This includes psds and tiffs.

To clarify what I mean by "appropriately" for linear files: they display as if a gamma adjustment has been made to bring the files into "normal" range.

I have HDR options set to Gamma 1.0 and CMS on.

The gamma value applied is the one set in SilverFast's option dialog.
