Hi,
I have scanned my negatives with Silverfast 8.8 and saved the images as 64bit HDRi RAW for later processing. Scanner is a Nikon LS-5000ED.
Is it possible in Silverfast 8.8 HDR Studio to process the RAW files and apply iSRD Dust Removal and maybe GANE correction and then save the output as a 48bit HDRi RAW file without applying any Negafix profiles or other color processing? Many of my negatives are old with no matching profiles, so that I need to do that later by hand.
Alternatively, is it possible during the scanning process to apply the iSRD Dust Removal and then save the output as a 48bit HDRi RAW file?
Apply SRDi without Negafix

Dear customer,
No it is not possible to apply any changes to HDR(i) RAW files.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Re: Apply SRDi without Negafix
HI,
I have to re-open this discussion.
We have a huge archive project involving around 10 000 negatives be be scanned by a team of volunteers. The negatives are scanned by Nikon LS-5000 and the 64bit HDR files are saved for later processing, also by a team of more volunteers.
The key processing steps using HDR is to clean up the negatives using iSDR and then apply the Negafix profiles and modifying each film profile by hand. The negatives are old and there are no matching Negafix profiles.
Given the nature of the project, a lot of manual adaption of both iSRD and Negafix are required for most negatives.
We need to do this in two steps - let team A repair the negatives using iSRD and team B the Negafix profiles.
Unfortunately, you have made this now impossible by removing the option to output 48 bit HDR files from 64bit HDR files with the iSRD processing done.
I can understand your reasoning that HDR RAW files can have any processing done, but you have to realise that people buy your software because of the features and because it is geared towards experts.
If you don't want to call it HDR RAW files, then call it something else, but I do need the ability to do the processing in steps
Regards

Re: Apply SRDi without Negafix
Dear customer,
You actually do not really need to output the files at all.
The main reason for HDRi RAW files is to store their data in the file itself.
Your Team A can make it settings and then simply hand over the HDRi RAW files to team B.
The settings made will be stored in the file so that Team B can continue working on them and create the final file.
Sorry I did not mention that earlier. I just realized that might be a solution to your issue.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
