V500 scanning 35mm film getting red/green band?

Postby mezzeta » Sun Mar 07, 2010 5:13 am

Hello all!

I'm a newbie here and having a problem scanning Kodak Gold 35mm negatives.

Using a brand new V500 with SF Ai 6.61r.

The prescan and scan both have a small band across image of red/green.

Have tryed turning off / on scanner and tryed the epson scan software as well
without any change.

Anyone ever seen this before??

Many thanks,
Tim

Dear mezzeta,

on a first look this seems to be a hardware issue.
Do you have the same band in EpsonScan?

kind regards

Yes it did happen in epsonscan as well.

Since posting this, I've returned the scanner to my local reseller and exchanged for
another v500. Problem solved.

Thanks for your input!

Dear Tim,

As my colleague correctly suspected, it probably was a hardware problem. Now you have changed devices and the problem is gone, that''s sweet!
