hi
I have the silverfast demo and I am trying it out with the v600. Try as I might, I cannot get the scans in silverfast to look better than when I use epsons packaged software that comes with it . In fact, it looks terribly noisy and grainy plus skins tones are awful. I have tried messing with gradation and some rgb colors and done some auto correct stuff but nothing I have tried works. What am I doing wrong? I was about to give up on it but I figured someone must have seen this before. thanks

Re: silverfast vs epson v600 software
Dear user,
EPSON scan uses a lot of automatic post-scan filters. In SilverFast, you get the actual data from the scanner and can decide which functions you want to use on them. The only Filter that automatically gets activated is the USM You can deactivate it by closing the USM tool. Also, make sure you are using the latest update from our website.
Make sure the red scan frame sits tightly around the actual image.
If you have not done so already try clicking and holding the auto-correction button and test the different auto adjustments available.
Kind regards,
Arne
