Silverfast SE and Photoshop 5.5

Postby pmongillo » Wed Dec 10, 2003 6:13 pm

As I stated in a previous post, I am pretty new to scanning negatives and chromes. When I set the Epson 3200 to 48bit in Silverfast SE and save the scan as a tiff file, when I open it in Photoshop, :o it seems to almost always be coverted to 8bit. Whats going on ?

Thanks
Paul

Dear Paul.

You surely have selected the default scan mode "48 to 24 bit color". This means that the 48 bit from the scanner are transformed to 24 bit. Since you are using SilverFast-SE, this is the normal behaviour. SE only supports 8 bit per channel on output.

Eric.
