I have an Epson Perfection 1650 and Windows ME with Photoshop 6. I profiled the scanner with Wiziwyg's IT8. I downloaded the demo version of SilverFast and I think I want to buy it.

What are the advantages (if any) of ordering it with the IT8 capabilities, as opposed to using the Wiziwyg profile?

Does the SilverFast profiler work with 48-bit scans?

Thanks for any information.

If you have wiziwyg and you find that with the demo you like the results then I don't think you need worry too much about IT8 module (that's me off LaserSofts Xmas card list  ) since they do the same thing.

The IT8 calibration module works with both low and high bit images (positive type films, NOT negatives).
