SilverFast AI 6 and Epson 3200 problems

Postby vadimk » Fri Aug 15, 2003 6:39 am

So I install the SF software that came with my new scanner. Preview usually works, but when I try to scan, the software freezes. I am running Windows XP SP 1. I tried two host programs - Photoshop 6.0 and Photoshop Elements 2.0, tried to install SF as a plug-in or as TWAIN, tried using it in USB 1.0 ports on the motherboard and USB 2.0 on a card, tried the USB drivers that came with the card, and USB drivers that ship with XP SP1. Epson software works just fine, under both hosts. Please advise. :( :(

Oh, yeah, one more thing - just downloaded your demo, it freezes, too.

Dear vadimk

actually I would be careful using the Win XP SP1 USB 2.0 drivers with an nForce2 motherboard. Data loss can occur. You want to download the fix for that from Microsoft directly.

The topic as such is regarded outdated, though, as any user who updated to recent versions of SilverFast (i.e.: 6.1.0r6 or higher) should not experience these problems regardless of operating system.
