HI
with the Epson perfection 3200 Photo, i'like to optimize the results of my scans ( E6 in 4X5 inches and 24X36 mm ) .
My question is : where do I position the transparencies ?
a) ON the glass directly ?
b) into the standard device given with the scanner
c) or can I optimize the distance beetween glass and transparencies with some specific device
I scan directly and sometimes with "oil"
thanks a lot for your time
scanning of transparencies on the glass or not ?

Re: scanning of transparencies on the glass or not ?
Hi there
I would use the film holder provided by the manufacturer. Many scanners have a shallow depth of field with the focusing point at the same spot where the film holders are.
I do not know if this is true to your scanner model.
I guess a test comparing scans with film placed directly on the glass surface vs film in the film holder could give you a more accurate and objective proof.
Kind regards

I made the tests
quality is optimum with the film holder of Epson
the distance beetween the film and glass is exactly the thickness of the support of dia for projection
