Scanning negs with a flatbed scanner

Hey all,

I'm relatively new to all this (last 2 months) and I was attempting to scan strips of negatives with Silverfast's batch process and my Epson 1640XL flatbed scanner (with the transparency adapter and film cassettes). I think I set it up correctly ( I laboriously selected each frame and set all the parameters for them one-by-one), but only about 30% of the negs were scanned. The rest came up black (underexposed?). I had to resort to using my Kodak 3200 film scanner which was also tedious to use for the cut negative strips but it eventually got the job done.

Any ideas on why Silverfast didn't scan correctly on my flatbed scanner??

dear User,

please check that all negatives look ok on your scanner preview before you scan them. When using NegaFix correctly make sure you have selected the correct negtive film type.
When all your negatives look fine on the scanner preview and still some become black, try to scan them as positives and see whether they will all be scanned as positives (of course looking negative).
