I have a large monochrome negative held in one of the frames. I select "transparency" and "negative" in the tools. I then hit "pre scan" and all I get is a large black area. I have been through frame selection but still get the same result. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for listening!

Re: Scanning Negative Problem
Dear customer,
Please check if you have activated the iSRD infrared scratch and dust removal.
Infrared correction unfortunately can not be used with most B&W films, because the silver halide emulsion blocks the infrared beam.
Which scanner are you using?
For flatbed devices make sure the lamp of the transparency unit (in the lid) lights up.
(But be careful they are very bright!)
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
