Greetings.
I am having problems with an Epson Perfection 2450 on a new PowerMac G5 running Mac OS X 10.2.8. It will work just fine once, but any subsequent attempts to scan will result in Silverfast not being able to find the scanner. If the computer is rebooted, it will once again scan once, then fail to find the scanner.
Is anything known about this issue? This scanner has worked fine for some time on a PowerMac G4 running Mac OS X 10.2.8 (and below), so it might be an issue with the G5, or possibly with the special version of 10.2.8 required for the G5.
Thank you very much for any help you are able to give.

Dear hamiltonmpc
do you use the latest update release?
What connection type? Does the prob also occur when another cabling is used?
Is it just SilverFast, or is the scanner not found by the OS altogether (hint: pls check the Apple System Profiler)?
If the problem persists, please report the problem to SilverFast support staff. Pls do include the SF_Logfile with with support request.
Thanks in advance, Sonny

The version listed in the dialog box is 6.1.0t8. The scanner is connected via USB; we haven't tested it with a different cable, but it didn't seem likely to have anything to do with it (works perfectly once, then stops working).
Apple System Profiler sees the scanner just fine, which also suggests the problem to be in software, not hardware.
I presume, then, that this is not a pre-existing known issue?
Thank you very much.
