Could anyone advise me if the Epson Perfection 2450/Silverfast combination is able to produce quality scans from 6 x 4.5cm negs suitable for reproduction as 20"x 16" photographic prints. I am considering upgrading from the perfection 1240 with Epson Twain 5.5 which is good but not quite good enough for such enlargements.
Any advice would be apreciated.

Dear Visage,
you don't loose anything when you download and test-scan with SilverFast 5.5.2 demo software for the Epson 2450photo. The download is free and that software will even let you do a final scan (however, water marked).
This is the most accurate way to find out what SilverFast can get out of your scanner.

I have tried a few scans using Silverfast demo 5.5.2 on my perfection 1240 and they are certainly far superior to the same images scanned using the supplied Epson twain 5.5, however I haven't yet had them printed in the lab.
I intend purchasing the full version of Silverfast 5.5i however as each purchase is dedicated to a particular scanner make/model I am trying to gain some information from current users of this scanner/software setup regarding its suitability for my needs before purchasing either.
thanks for your reply
