I have a classic GT-5000 parallel version, and i know XP is not meant to be used for "DATA IN" through the parallel port.
All i can afford right now, is a "parallel to usb" adapter cable, but XP only has WIA drivers for SCSI scanners, and so silverfast.
What chances do i have from silverfast or XP to reconogize my parallel scanner in the USB port ?
thanks in advance.
Parallel port scanners work on XP, if i use the USB adapter?
Dear underp
little chances, at best. Using SCSI connection, you wouldn't need drivers, for connecting a USB device you surely would.
As there haven't been drivers developed for XP that I know of, I doubt this scanner can be driven under that OS, but if you find a way to do, I am sure some others reading this posting will want to know, so in this case, please don't hesitate to tell us.
Thanks in advance and kind regards
