over-exposed gel scanning on V700

Postby jknafels » Tue Apr 20, 2010 8:18 pm

Hi,

We are trying to scan protein electrophoresis gels and bought the Epson Perfection V700 Photo scanner specifically for its large transparency area. The first few scans we did looked great, but now all of the gels are pretty overexposed and the fainter bands don't even show up. I've tried playing with all of the settings to see if something changed, but there's no obvious good fix.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks,
John

Dear Customer,

if it worked once I would suggest resting SilverFast by deleting the preference files via the service menu.
This sets SilverFast back to "factory defaults"
