No Scanner Found: 1680-FW-Panther

Help!

Today I installed SFE-6.1.0r5(EpsonIT8) on my G4 dual 1ghz / OSX.3.1.

Attempting to use my Epson 1680 FW scanner returned the following message:

"No scanner found"

I am able to scan using Apple Image Capture, so the connections are all working well.

Any suggestions?
