Am using my new 4870 for first time and having some trouble. I scanned my 2 1/4 trans. into PS CS using Silverfast AI. No modifications were made. The image was enlarged to 13x19 and though the color looked really good the image quality was terrible. The entire image showed pixelation (jagged edges) everywhere. I did notice that in PS the scaled image size was 600%. Being medium format I would have thought it would have held together fine though. I'm sure I'm missing something.
Also, when placing the trans. into the carrier should the emulsion be facing up? When I place it down the image is reversed. Can anyone give me some advice?
Thanks,
Rick

Dear Rick Harris,
please read the small chapter I wrote about resolution in "scanning concepts":
https://www.silverfast.com/show/scanningconcept/en.html
This will explain why and what to set up for appropriate resolution in SilverFast, which is the key to efficient scans. You might also look through the useful tutorial from Ian Lyons:https://www.silverfast.com/show/sf-online-reviews/en.html
To round it up, I would strongly recommend the SilverFast Official guide book from Dr. TAZ TALLY, which introduces nicely into all relevant scanning concepts: https://www.silverfast.com/show/sf-offic ... de/en.html
happy (and successful) scanning
