NegaFix problem?

I've been using Ai 6 with a 3200 for about a month with good results. I just tried to scan 4x5 negs and I'm having a problem. I'm not sure if the problem starts in scanning, though. The film is Fuji NPL. There's no profile in Negafix for NPL, but NPS looked close. I scanned, brought the file into Psp and did my usual workflow. The image looks good on the monitor, but prints darker and over-saturated. I printed a known test file to confirm monitor/printer calibration. It looks fine.

This sounds more like a problem with Photoshop or Colormanagment. Der are several important things :
If you are using CYMK colormodel in PSP, proof the picture several times. The RGB screen is different from the CMYK, which is internal. The proof shows this.
There is a difference between 16bit and 8bit. The profile could handle this different.
Be aware of the internal Colorspace. The handling of that is very important. SilverFast and Photoshop need to have the same. If you are using Mac, be aware, that the internal Colorspace in Colorsync is the same.
Be ware of the colormetric. CMYK to CMYK shouldn't be perceptual (as example).

You say there is a difference between 16 bit and 8 bit and the profile could handle work differently. I try to scan in 16 bit most of the time. Should I recalibrate in 16 bit?
I am on a Mac. I work in RGB. My internal colorspace is Adobe RGB 1998 and all software (Silverfast; Photoshop and Colorsync) is set to that.
I don't understand how a print from a scanned negative can be so far off while a print from a scanned chrome is good.
