MEX with Negatives

Postby rnwhalley » Tue May 29, 2007 10:04 pm

I made a Batch scan from Kodak Portra 400NC film recently and for the images where I had Multiple Exposure turned on the finished scan looked like a negative. When I scan these image again without MEX the scans turn out fine (although a little too dark to use).

Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Just identified the problem. It's not MEX that's the issue its scanning in HDR 48bit mode. If you scan a negative in this mode you will end up with a negative image rather than a positive one. You can correct it in Photoshop by pressing Ctrl+I (sorry I don't know what the keys are on the Mac).

Dear Robin,

you can also use SilverFast(HDR/DCpro/etc.) to process your negatives from the HDR scans.

Best regards
Martin
