Kodak TX 400 and Silverfast Ai

Postby poplife » Fri Sep 23, 2005 7:24 pm

Hello,

I can't get the best out of B/W especially TX400. I scanned the first picture with silverfast Ai (latest update) and below picture I used epson scan program, using epson 4870. I don't have any problem with TMAX but only TX400 shows this kind of result.

What do you guys think about this problem?

Please try using the "Monochrome" Negafix profile, too.

Thanks for reply. I tried monochrome profile today. Result was little bit better than tri-x profile but not as good as epson scan. Even v**s**n produced better result. I'm lost again. :(

Are you using the auto correction tools, or are you adjusting the tonality manually, and are you using color or monochrome as the scan type? The Epson software makes auto adjustments by default.

If you use the "Histogram" and the "Gradation-Adjustment" in SilverFast you should be able to fine tune the image tonality way more than you can with the Epson software.
