I am using an Epson 1680 scanner, Silverfast Ai IT8 Studio. I made a previous IT8 calibration and am trying to make a new IT8 calibration with a new IT8 target and am having difficulty. Everytime I perform the IT8 calibration, I must manually set the frame but it still does not work. I suspect it has something to do with the fact it has already been calibrated. I want to try to cancel previous IT8 calibration to see if it will fix the problem but can not figure out how to do so. Can someone please tell me how I can make another IT8 calibration with a different IT8 target. A response would be appreciated.
Regards,
Lowell

Re: IT8 Calibration
Dear Lowell,
SilverFast will automatically replace previous calibrations.
There is no need to undo it.
You only could delete the icc profile created for the scanner.
Normally this will be overwritten by a new calibration and automatically be used.
Try inserting the calibration target turned around (sides switched) sometimes the calibration works better if the emulsion side faces into a certain direction.
SilverFast does not care if the target is mirror-inverted.
When correcting the mask make sure it is turned the right way.
The white and black dots in the grid must be in the corresponding fields (white on white; black on Black) in the lowest row (if target is not turned upside down).
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Herr Kettlehorn
Thank you for your prompt advice. Moving the IT8 target to another area on the scanner did solve the problem. Have a good day.
