ISRD corrections not appearing

Postby raindog » Thu Dec 29, 2016 6:46 pm

After working thru all corrections and doing a final scan I look at the saved image file. If i return to one or more items to make further corrections and scan again, the ISRD dust and scratch removal corrections have disappeared from the saved image even if i run ISRD again and see correct results before running the final scan. I am scanning slides in the epson slide holder. Occasionally the corrections are offset from the dust.

Also, workflow pilot does not offer a chance to find frames in a 12 slide holder, just one big frame.

thanks for your help
Scott

Dear Scott,

Try raising the "Maximum offset for iSRD correction" in the preferences' special tab. This can help in case the offset is larger then expected,

The Workflow Pilot can only handle a single image at a time.
For batch processing all images in the holder please use the normal scan mode.

Kind regards,
Arne

I've been trying to work with LSI_Ketelhon via email support on what may be the same issue that you are experiencing for months, and the issue has yet resolved. It took several months just to get confirmation of the issue.

There is a bug in SilverFast wrt. iSRD corrections - the saved image and the HQ iSRD preview image do not agree - the corrections can be shifted seemingly randomly. I've provided evidence of this bug numerous times, and can reproduce it at will.

I've discovered that by zooming out, adjusting the frame, and zooming in to HQ, I can often get the corrections to align. But sometimes not, and I have to readjust the framing (usually wider), re-scan via iSRD HQ mode sometimes as much as 10 times to get a good saved result.

I'm hoping this post is not summarily deleted, as have been several in the past (with the explanation that support issues are not appropriate in the forum, and yet this is the exact issue I've been dealing with for months!).
