Installed 2nd Scanner, Now SF won't load

I'm using win2000, and had an epson Expression 800 working fine with SF 5.x (connected by SCSI). I bought a Coolscan IV ED to scan film and now when I try to use my Epson flatbed and pick Silverfast from the Import tab, it says "searching devices" and never gets past that point. I uninstalled SF and reinstalled the latest update, but still have the same problem. Also, the Epson software works. Help!

Here are some questions, which may help tracking down the problem.
1. Have you installed other software or hardware since SilverFast found your Epson scanner last time?
2. Have you installed service pack 2 for Win2K?
3. Can SilverFast (Epson) find your Epson scanner, if you remove the SilverFast (Nikon) plugin from your PhotoShop?s import directory?
4. Try to delete the SilverFast preferences. You find them in the SilverFast directory inside PhotoShop?s import directory.
5. Does the SilverFast (Nikon) plugin work correctly ?
