HDR Scanning Negs With Epson 1680; Silverfast Alone
HDR Scanning Negs With Epson 1680; Silverfast Alone
How do I use the HDR capabilities of Silverfast 6 on color negatives? I am using the Photoshop Plugin in Photoshop 7. When I scan in HDR mode, I get a negative image with the orange mask. If that is normal, how do I get a positive without the orange mask? Also, is it possible to use Silverfast outside of Photoshop? Thanks.
Regards,
Nick Jahn

Dear Nick.
"48 bit HDR color" mode produces images that are: "as the scanner sees them". "48 bit color" mode however, adds all corrections to them, including the conversion to positive.
You can use SilverFast togethter with our standalone application "SF_App" (which allows scanning to file directly) or you can use any other application that can call photoshop or twain plugins.
Eric.
