GT5000 parallel port driver for xp

Can anyone help me with this?
Can i get a parallel to usb adaptor and get the usb driver?
Has anyone written the xp driver for the parellel version of the GT5000 (not scsi)?

I have never heard of such an adapter, but I believe that buying a new USB scanner right away is likely to be less expensive and easier to handle.
