Gamma in Scanner Profile
--------------------------------
I have noticed that if I opened a scanner profile created with IT8 on the Epson and Ai Studio 8.0.1 (r22), that the gamma that was in efffect when the calibration was done, is embedded in the profile. For example, I can create a scanner profile which list the gamma as 1.8 or 2.2.
What is the correct or standard value to use for profile creation?
What is the effect of creating a scanner profile with a specific gamma?
How should the scanner profile gamma be used when processing / scanning images with this profile?
Regards

Re: Gamma in Scanner Profiles
Dear customer,
Most computer systems nowadays use a gamma 2.2.
Only older OSX systems use a gamma of 1.8
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
