I just purchased an Epson 1680 scanner which is bundled with Silverfast AI 5. The Epson Twain driver has a focus control that shifts focus 2.5 millimeters off the flatbed surface for scanning transparencies suspended in filmholders. I can't find any such control in the Silverfast software. Am I missing something?
Thanks

SilverFast Ai for the Epson Expression 1680 has an auto-focus button (with an 'A' inside) in the vertical tool bar left of the prescan area. The focus button is greyed when inactive and is activated with a mouse click.
2 focus situations can be applied:
1. Auto focus (button has an 'A'
2. Focus 2.5 mm above the glass (button below showing the value)

I am scanning 35mm negatives of Kodak Tech Pan Film using the Epson 1680 with the negative carrier and am having problems with focus with Silverfast v 5.2.0. With the Epson supplied TWAIN and the focus 2.5 button depressed, the scans are in focus. With Silverfast and the button depressed to 2.5, the scans are much softer (out of focus). Just experimenting, with the focus button set to 0, the scans are even more out of focus.
Any help would be appreicated.
Thanks
