The Epson Twain pluggin allows for the plane of focus to be switched between two settings: one for using the negative holders and one for putting things directly on the glass.
Is it possible to switch between these in Ai 5.5 or 6.0? I need both, or else things come out pretty blurry.
Thanks.

Rich,
The focus switches automatically when you select transparent or reflective. You can change it manually, however. On the left-hand-side of the prescan window, there is a button between the Job Manager and IT8 Calibration buttons that will have a 0.0 or 2.5 in it. These are the two focus values. If you click on the button it will change. 0.0 is default for reflective and 2.5 is default for using the film/slide holders.
FYI - Unlike true film scanners with variable (i.e. more than 2 focus values) you will not be able to get razor sharp scans with the 1680. They shouldn't be all blurry, though, just a little less than perfectly sharp. You just need to sharpen a little using SF or PhotoShop.
