Epson V600 resolution

Postby Solar39 » Fri Mar 24, 2017 1:28 am

I am trying to use the Epson V600 With Silverfast SE 8, and cannot get the resolution slider to stay in the green zone when I try to change the resolution to 2400. The scanner specs say that the Optical Resolution is 6400 dpi x 9600 dpi. I can't go above 1600 on the slider before it goes into the yellow. I don't want to scan at any Interpolated Resolution.

Thanks!

Dear user,

The yellow area is still OK. Only the last red setting is interpolated.
The values the manufacturer states are always available as hardware resolutions.

Kind regards,
Arne

Thank you for your speedy response. :D

so even though my scanner can go to 6400 DPI, your software will only allow it to go to 2400 DPI in the yellow, before the scan becomes interpolated? What do you mean by hardware Resolution? I thought hardware resolution is the Optical Resolution of the scanner.

So scanning in the yellow band of the slider is still an Optical Resolution Scan?

Optical Resolution = 6400 dpi x 9600 dpi
Interpolated Resolution = 12800 dpi x 12800 dpi

Dear user,

Yes the optical resolution is the hardware resolution.

Kind regards,
