Epson perfection 4870 and no multi exposure

I bought the 6.5 Studio AI just for the muti exposure and i cant
get it to work.
Im on a pc with win. xp home edition ver 2002.
I removed my old SF studio program and restarted the pc before installing
the new 6.5 Studio. And i cant get ME working with the multi sampling button at all..I have tryed going to classic desktop and back to XP
and still ME will not work..
I allso removed the program and tryed a second install.. Still no luck.
What should i try next... John

It works on my 4870. It did not work if I was using the classic desktop style but if I used the XP style it worked.

Dear John,
did you consider that MEX only works in the 48 Bit color modes, not in the 48->24 modes ?

Please try again ( if you haven't done so already ) by choosing 48 Bit Color or 48 Bit HDR and let us know if it works out then...

Commenting the XP vs. Classic style thing:
the function still works, just the button icon is not shown, you can see that it takes 2 clicks to go from 2xMS to 4xMS because in between it is in 2xMEX mode without showing...
This is due to a stupid MicroSoft bug displaying button updates in classic mode.
We will adress this bug in the future of course, but right now its there :-(

Yes i have tryed it in all 48 modes and i changed the desktop to
XP theme. I have tryed many different ways with the program and
nothing works with the ME.. Other parts of the program are there
and working like the extended negafix, and the auto frame...

Dear John,
now this seems strange, you are right...

Did you contact our support team on this matter ?!
If not, please do so, they should try to verify this as we have a few 4870.

If yes, may send a second request and be gentle, they are very busy at the moment because of the 6.5 upgrades and the upcoming vista and leopard issues...

Yes, i did contact tech dept. Im working with them via email for the
last 2 days.
Im working during the day so i cant give it as much time as i would
like to.

Thanks for your help, i got the 6.5 program up and running
and it works good.
It had to do with deleting my old serial # and adding my new
one.
Dont know what i did in the first place but it works now..
