I have an Epson Perfection 2450 scanner which I have purchased in Canada. Ths scanner is sold as having an optical resolution of 2400 dpi and an interpolated resolution of 4800 dpi. On page 50 of the Ai6 manual it is stated that by pressing the "Ctrl" key the SilverFast shows the hardware scan resolution. When I do that I get a resolution of 3200. By pressing also the "Shift" key I get an interpolated resolution of 6400. Am I doing something wrong or is the Silverfast giving wrong information? I would appreciate an explanation.
Thank you,
VSB

We checked it here, and indeed it is true, SilverFast displays 3200 dpi!
Now where is the fault?
As a matter of Fact, SilverFast usually asks the peripheral (it communicates with) what its features are - like: what is your max. resolution?.
SilverFast then uses the information it gets from the scanner's logic.
This leads to the assumption that the scanner 2450 scanner is in fact capable of delivering 3200 dpi.
We will check whether there is a fault in SF or whether this is what SF gets as information.
