Epson perfection 2450 not scanning

Postby jkaput » Sat Sep 28, 2002 2:59 pm

I work for a dental office and we are currently using the Epson to scan all of our patient's hard copy information into the computer. I have made my way from A's to MA and I am now running into scanning problems.

Using the Host program Dexis ( a program that allows you to take digital x-rays) I am running Silverfast SE v5.5 0.06. The program that came with the epson scanner. The prescan mode works just fine, but when I actually go to scan in the reflective mode of the program (located under the general tab) the scanner scans about 1/2 inch of the image and then Pauses, continues for 1/2 inch and pauses again. It continues to do this for the entire document. In some cases the scanner will only scan to the middle of the selected area then stop completely. As the paper is being scanned a small box appears showing the scanned area. This box is behaving normally. When the scanner is finished it is suppose to transfer the scanned image directly into the host program. No image is being transferred however.

When I changed my mode from Reflective to Transparency I was working fine for about a day. Now I am having the same problem with the transparency mode.

I'm not sure whether this is a scanner problem or a problem with the Silverfast program. Could it be that I have Used up the temp drive for the epson scanner?

Help!!

Epson Perfection 2450 SilverFast problem

Dear User,
first thing to try is trash the SF_Prefs file (inside the SilverFast folder). Also check the memory that is allocated to your host program. Please read the FAQs on our site! If problems persist, forward the LogFile to support@silverfast.com together with the problem description.

It is also recommended to download the lastest version, you couls also try the latest SilverFast Ai 6 (the full version of SilverFast).
