Epson 4870 scans photo in 16bit Gray to TIF is broken

Postby tucsonjohncc » Wed Aug 24, 2005 8:54 pm

I am scanning old B&W photos and saving to TIF file. When I finish and open file, I get message--"could not open because file is not tif file"

The same thing happens if save to jpeg. And if I try to open with Graphic Converter- it says file is broken or corrupted. I can scan the file and open with the Epson software--no problems.

The image that I end up with in the browser (can't open) is very light--not at all like prescan. This same problem exists in PE3 or PScs.

Any suggestions?
