Could someone tell me what the difference is in using a IT8 target from the Monico software that came with my E 4870 scanner and the silverfast IT8 tagets that you buy, when doing the procedure that Gcthomason writes about on his 4/3/04 post on Pro calibration. And allso what kind or make of It8 target was he using. Im new to this, so any info would help
Thanks John

Dear John
http://www.computer-darkroom.com/sf6-it8/sf6_2.htm
describes how SilverFast is calibrated with LSI targets and using SilverFast software.
If you question actually addresses (I unfortunately weren't sure) calibrating SilverFast with Monaco software there's no basic difference between an LSI target and some from another manufacturer's, as far as the use of the target is concerned.
If delta E is concerned, our targets tend to be superior in quality compared to other manufacturers' ones, though.
However, the best ease of use for IT8 calibration is only achieved with the combination LSI target and SilverFast software.
Best regards
