Epson 4180, Windows Vista and Silverfast

Yet another update/upgrade to Silverfast this time to v6 and it still cannot run the Epson 4180 under Windows Vista. Epson provide scanning software that does run so why is it taking so long here? If the Epson 4990 can run under Vista, is the problem for the 4180 so significantly different?

Are Lasersoft not going to support past XP for the 4180?

I am certainly NOT buying a new scanner when the one I have is just about three years old.

Can we get Silverfast to work please, I was really impressed when I was running under Windows XP

Indeed the 4180 is different in communicating with (from a software point of view) than the 4990.
