Epson 4180 simply doesn't work... (OSX)

Postby Seuss » Mon Dec 27, 2004 3:08 am

Hi,

I recently received an Epson 4180 for Christmas and immediately decided to try it out with Silverfast. Unfortunately I can't get it to scan anything. The scanner works fine with the packaged Epson software as well as v**s**n but when attempting to scan or pre-scan in Silverfast (tried the AI and SE demos and both PS plugins) it just sits there telling me the lamp is warming up. I have left it "warming up" for 2 hours and still nothing. I have also tried removing any and all software that might conflict with silversoft (drivers/software etc.) but still no luck. I'm using Mac OS 10.3.7. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have exactly the same problem. The scanner does not work with Silverfast SE/AI 6.4.0r9. Warming up is all I get, then it stalls. System is a G5 DP2000 with 10.3.7 and Scanner directly connected to the Front USB.

We just found the problem with the Perfection 4180 not working under OS X. The updated version 6.4.0r9e will be available within a few days.

Best regards

Perfect the version AI (I tested the f Version) does work ok, but when does the SE Version appear.
