EPSON 3170 - Silverfast SE

Hello,

I have two issues that I would appreciate some help with -

1) I've just purchased an EPSON 3170 (USB 2) scanner and I'm unsure which version of SE 6.x to use with this scanner. It's not listed as specifically supported.

2) Must I uninstall the EPSON scanner software when I install Silverfast?

Dear marketman

though at the moment there is no version of SilverFast available which supports the Epson 3170 scanner, we are quite confident that next year might see such one.

Be aware that unforeseen issues during development or testing phase can always lead to a decision of abandoning any given project.
However, one can expect to see a SilverFast support for the Epson 3170 implemented in the second, perhaps even the first quarter of 2004.

Please note that the SilverFast versions for the Epson 3200 won't work with the 3170 model.

We hope to be able to release a SilverFast version with support for the Epson Perfection 3170 and 1670 in 1-2 weeks. The Windows version is currently passing our inhouse testing, the Mac version will follow a bit later.

I have an Epson 3170 on it's way to me now and would definitely buy SilverFast SE if it supported this scanner...

Is there any developments regarding the Epson 3170 testing, still on track for release in a week or so..?

SilverFast Ai and SE have been released for Epson 1670 and 3170
Windows and Macintosh versions are available now.
