Epson 2480 photo

Postby Erik Heyninck » Thu Sep 23, 2004 9:34 pm

I own SilverfastAi for the Epson 2450 photo scanner.

As my scanner has run out of guarantee and is making (again! after a repair by Epson) a horrible screeching noise, I was thinking of buying a 2480 photo scanner as that model is much cheaper than a repair.

Question is: can I still use my Silverfast Ai on that newer model?
As I don't see the scanner mentioned here, I guess it *should* be ok, but I want to be shure before investing any money (again).

Thanks!

Dear Mr Heyninck

thank you for your interest in LaserSoft Imaging's software products.
However, the scanner you are interested is not supported right now.

SilverFast is being developed specifically for any scanner in order to make the best possible use of your scanning hardware.

Please note that the SilverFast versions for similar models from the same manufacturer cannot be expected to work with the scanner you are interested in.

You'll always find updated information about which scanners are supported by the SilverFast scanning software on our website www.silverfast.com at "Support" > "Supported scanners" or direct URL: http://www.silverfast.com/product/en.html

I did start with Silverfast Ai for the 1640, then went to the 2450 because of technical problems with the former, and I did hope the 2480 was a kind of rebuild of the 2450, which apparently it is not.

Bad news, as I am now a bit stuck as I don't want to invest yet another 500 Euro in a scanner (plus a new version of Ai) to get the 3thousand etcetera.
(after two scanners and the unsatisfactory follow up by Epson I would never buy anything from them anymore in that price range).

Thanks anyway.

Dear Erik

just something to add: If you already own a SilverFast version, you are elligible to a discount price if you upgrade or cross-grade.

Sales department will gladly make a precise offer on any specific inquiry.
You can also use the problem report for questions like this.

Dear 2480 owners

please note that the imaging forum is to wide a space to be used for supporting or marketing issues.
Please do not hesitate to <a href="https://www.silverfast.com/problemreport/en.html?topic=SalesMarketing">contact us directly</a>.

Unfortunately, there are no news I could spread right now about a version of SilverFast for the Epson 2480. Please excuse the inconviences caused.

By the way: If everybody longing for such a version would tell us (see contact link above), then this might definitely set the issue higher on our development priorities.

Finest regards

Hello Everyone,

I'm not satisfied with Epson software for my 2480 Photo....
I would also be very happy with Silvefast for my 2480.

Regards
Gill
