Hi guys,
I'm new to Silverfast Ai (with Epson 2450 scanner), and have 2 scanner options in Acrobat 5.0.5. I can use TWAIN, or SilverFast. TWAIN works, but SilverFast does not. Is the SilverFast only supposed to work with Photoshop (which it does), or should it also work with Acrobat?
I'm running Mac OS 9.2.2 and would appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Jim

Jim,
I'm assuming you installed both the TWAIN and the plug-in version of Silverfast? Can you be more specific as to how Silverfast "doesn't work"? I've got a similar set-up with Acrobat 5.05, an Epson scanner and Silverfast 5.5, and it works fine for me. Give me some more details, and maybe I can help you out. Thanks,
Ian

ianders1,
Thanks for the reply, and yes, I installed both the TWAIN and the plug in version.
Selecting the TWAIN works, but when I select the plug in, the main screen appears with the dotted line, but none of the toll palates appear. Hence, I can scan the document or even quti SilverFast or Acrobat which forces me to crash the Mac.
Also, do you know if they are working on an OS X version?
Thanks,
Jim

Jim,
Since I don't have a Mac, I'm not really sure what the problem is. Silverfast uses standard TWAIN protocol, so it should be compatible.
The only idea I have is to remove all of the files for the TWAIN version of Silverfast - including a TWAIN driver that it installs in your System Folder, and then reinstall it. I think that if you search on this forum, someone has put up detailed instructions on all the files you need to uninstall from your Mac. If you had a PC, I could be more helpful - but most of these forum users have Macs, so hopefully they can be more helpful.
